How it Works

Put simply the heat exchanger unit becomes an extension of the pipe carrying the hot refrigerant from the compressor (motor) to the condenser (fan blowing hot air outside).

The hot refrigerant flows through the heat exchanger in the opposite direction to the cold water and the heat is conducted through the wall of the exchanger into the water. The water is then passed into the water tank for immediate use or storage for later use.

It is a little more complex than this as the system includes controls to maximise the efficiency of heat recovery whilst ensuring the correct running of the refrigeration plant.
